Survival in the Rural Community

by Care

South Carolina is a rural state and many of the residents live in rural communities. It is well documented that they have health disparities that surpass those who live in the city.

Lack of access to care and preventative health care services are also contributing factors. It is important that people, who live in rural counties, appreciate the fact that fitness activity is paramount to good health. It was reported to me that my stomping ground, Cross, South Carolina, is involved with this undertaking.

It is also well documented that people who start and maintain a balanced fitness program will decrease the risk of developing several types of cancer.

Walking for 30 minutes, most days of the week, and some type of weight or resistance training is recommended.

One final note, working is not exercise as often related to me by black people.

Your opinion matters.
