Patients should tell physicians all

by Care, For Men, For Women

Research tells us that patients often don’t tell physicians all when it comes to their health. I cannot tell
you the numbers of times that I have found out critical information regarding the patient’s health from
other documents or from family members.

We now know that one in 6 seniors take dangerous combos medications and supplements along with
their regular medications that could put them at risk for very serious drug interaction. It is felt that 15%
of seniors are taking multiple over the counter medications that could potentially be dangerous. It is
often not appreciated that the metabolism of people change as they older making drug interaction a
common dangerous problem.

Always tell your physician about any over the counter pill that you are thinking about taking.

If you are younger person talk to your parents about what pills they are taking. It is not uncommon for
them to get poor or incomplete information from the radio or television.

Your opinion matters.
