Going Cold Turkey With Smoking

by | Cancer, Care

I do not like saying this, but when I see people smoking, I ask myself if they are informed or just do not care about the effects of smoking on themselves and others.

Smoking is the common risk factor with which patients have difficulty when starting a new life style change for health reasons.  It follows a sedentary life style among African Americans and the underserved.  Keep in mind that smoking is a major factor for heart disease and cancer.

Recent medical literature reveals that people who stop smoking cold turkey are more prone to be successful than those who do it gradually.  I personally found this to be the case with patients whom I have encouraged to stop smoking. The best way to get results is to select a day and go cold turkey.

Improve your lifestyle when you are young if you want to increase your chances of being healthy when you become 60 years old.

Your opinion matters.
